“The whole desire of Dyslexia Community, is to hold parent support at the centre, so that we can do our upmost to best support you to support your child- to ensure that they are reaching their true potential.”

I know that being a parent of a child with a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia is challenging. I know this because I am Mum to a child with dyslexia. With each stage, comes a different hurdle- usually just when I think I’ve cracked it! And that’s how our parent support community developed- by going through different stages with my own family and wanting to be able to offer a huge wealth of knowledge to my fellow parents out there.

So, a bit of background about me………I am an experienced Primary School Teacher and have taught all of the Primary age range. My wealth of experience is in areas of dyslexia, dyscalculia and Irlen Syndrome where I provide diagnostic assessment, Multi-sensory, structured tuition, study skills sessions and drop in clinics at the Dyslexia Centre.  I have a current PATOSS practising certificate, which enables me to assess children, young people and adults for dyslexia and dyscalculia. I also works in secondary schools, providing access arrangement assessments.  I am an experienced School SENCO and a Special Educational Needs School Advisor, advising Head Teachers and SENCOs about dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia.  I love to celebrate the children’s strengths to help raise their self-esteem. My moto is ‘until you spread your wings, you won’t know how far you can fly’ .

The community is a safe place, that I can bring to you a whole host of specialist support covering areas of dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia from a very experienced, highly qualified but most importantly very lovely team of people.

I look forward to helping you on this journey.
